Building The Cabin

Today I ventured into the forest to help a good friend of ours build their cabin.   Having grown up with Lego , I thhought I’d be highly qualified for the job!

Our project was to build the footing and steps leading up to the front door.   It took 3 of us (amatuers) half a day to build the steps with the guidance of a professional carpenter.   To put this into perspective, it  took the carpenter just under a week to get the cabin to the point you can see in the photos below!    This building has shot up!   It’s going to take around 2 weeks from start to finish before this thing is water tight and can be decorated!

Take a look at the photos to see just how fast this has appeared!

Skinner’s Cove

Skinner’s Cove is my favourite local beach.  Today we drove there to see if the hurricane had washed any sea glass up onto the beach.  I like to collect it so when I finally unpack all of my jewelry making equipment I can make some unusual pieces.  Blue sea glass is the hardest to find – I only have 1 piece.

The water in the pictures is really really muddy from where the hurricane churned up the sea bed.
