Days 154 – 165

Another exciting week.  The appliances arrived :), the flooring was delivered, the septic tank was put in (nice!!), the vanity units went in, the plumbing fixtures went in and more work was done on the kitchen.

For the flooring we chose a Maple engineered hardwood to go in the main rooms downstairs and also in the office upstairs.  The entrance way and kitchen is a black natural stone (looks a bit like slate) and then upstairs in the bedrooms we have had a cream carpet delivered.

Days 145 – 151

As many of you will already know – we have actually moved into our house.  The time has flown by and we have been so busy that the blog has taken a back seat for a bit too long.  The next few post are obviously all retrospective (and very short) but it will continue the time line for the house build.  So………

Wow, what a week.  We got…… colour on the walls, tiles on the kitchen floor, the start of window frames and sills, a patch panel, the start of the septic install AND the kitchen cabinets.  It was busy, busy, busy in the house.

It was amazing to see the colour going onto the walls.  We had only seen the colours on a swatch panel as they don’t seem to do tester pots over here.  We are pleased with our choices though.

The kitchen was a big job.  On the Friday afternoon a trailer arrived with all of the kitchen units in it.  the plan was to have all of the units installed over the course of the weekend – but like all good plans – they never go to plan 🙂  Nick and i went up to help with the install as the kitchen had been built by friends of ours.  Matt and Jim Cripps – a father and son team – had built us a fabulous kitchen.
