This week our contractors were on site for 3 days (14th – 16th). During that time the chimney was nearly completed and the roof trusses were all installed. The one end of the house was also sheeted, ready to take the roof shingles.
Having the roof shape in place has really made a difference. The house has a lot more character now, and you can see where the different angles on the roof are going to be.
During this week we have also had to make our final choices on the plumbing fixtures for the bathrooms. The rough in for this is taking place in the new year and all the parts have to be ordered ready for this time. We had a difficult time choosing as there are so many. Also, I found, that all the fixtures that were jumping out at me as being the nicest for our bathroom all cost way too much – one tap was $400 (£260). I was soon bought back to the real world 🙂
