{"id":334,"date":"2012-03-25T13:14:03","date_gmt":"2012-03-25T13:14:03","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.thebigmove.ca\/?p=334"},"modified":"2012-08-15T13:19:09","modified_gmt":"2012-08-15T13:19:09","slug":"days-168-172","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.thebigmove.ca\/?p=334","title":{"rendered":"Days 168 &#8211; 172"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>We are now on the home straight for the house build. \u00a0We have been advised that it will all be complete by the end of March, that&#8217;s only 2 weeks away.<\/p>\n<p>There are a lot of little jobs (in the grand scheme of things) to do. \u00a0The trim needs to go in and and be painted, doors need to be hung, carpets finished off. \u00a0It is mainly detail work now so although to the eye there is &#8216;only&#8217; a bit to do it takes time to do these things.<\/p>\n<p>On Tuesday this week the company came to fit the counter top in the kitchen. \u00a0We ordered a product called Silestone (for those in Wilts &#8211; you can get it at Leekes). \u00a0It is a reconstituted granite surface which is stain resistant and very hard wearing. \u00a0The colour we ordered is called Carbono. \u00a0The fitters were in the kitchen for about 3 hours installing the work top. \u00a0There were 6 pieces altogether and each piece weighed a fair amount. \u00a0Once teh had been put into position they had to seal the 2 joins. \u00a0This involved putting a clamp device on the surface and injecting a resin to bond the pieces together. \u00a0When they had finished you could hardly see the joins. \u00a0A very good job.<\/p>\nngg_shortcode_0_placeholder\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>We are now on the home straight for the house build. \u00a0We have been advised that it will all be complete by the end of March, that&#8217;s only 2 weeks away.
